Based on the banks of the River Thames this lovely two bed London apartment was due for an upgrade. Our clients were looking for a floor that was not only stunning but also practical and easy to maintain. They opted for contemporary grey engineered oak flooring but with a twist. Wanting to move away from perfect smooth finishes they chose a rustic oak board with a heavily brushed surface. This grey engineered oak flooring is achieved by applying two different colour oils and then brushed aged. A rustic grade oak floor exudes character and charm highlighting its natural markings and shades of grey throughout the timber. With particular emphasis on colour variation, mineral streaks and apparent growth rings all adds to the appeal.
Lately we are seeing a move away from perfect, smooth finishes with a stronger leaning towards heavily brushed surfaces with coarse textures. The rough, irregular surface is an upward trend, as it has such a natural and authentic look and feel.
If you desire the look and feel of a solid wood floor without the associated cost and maintenance an engineered wood floor is a smart choice. Having the appearance of solid wood but much easier to maintain and install, engineered wood flooring is a fashionable choice for homes. Sustainable and environmentally friendly, engineered flooring suits the ethos of our clients requirements.
Mr and Mrs Meadows commented: ‘We are absolutely delighted with the flooring it really adds another dimension to our apartment making a perfect backdrop complimenting our style of decor. “We received amazing service from Ben and his team throughout. From advising us on the choice of colour of the floor, to discussing the different styles available. Delivery and aftercare were all first class. I would definitely recommend Sutton Timber without hesitation.”
